2026 Changes to NSW Rental Laws
NSW’s updated rental regulations aim to improve fairness, clarity, and protections for both tenants and landlords, creating a more balanced and stable rental market.
1. Rental Payments
From 2 March 2026, landlords and agents will be required to allow their tenant to pay rent by Centrepay. Only certain tenants are eligible for Centrepay.
2. Strata Laws
Further reforms will commence on 1 April 2026, providing additional time for schemes and original owners to get ready for the changes:
